I have the best tan lines. Ever.
Most people would say they have “bad” tan lines, but not me. I love my tan lines. They remind me of the hard work I do everyday, and I like to show them off. I have tan lines from my shorts, belly, straps, and a racerback tan line.
I like it.
We all get down on ourselves sometimes: frizzy hair, bloated stomach, baggy eyes, bad skin.
Why?
Life is short. Life is good. Enjoy it. Embrace it. Embrace yourself. Be yourself.
Even when you feel invisible and small. You are beautiful.
Don’t worry about what others think about you. Just laugh and live!
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind. Β Β -Dr. Seuss
THOUGHT-PROVOKING, MIND-PRODDING QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Tell me one thing about yourself that you love and embrace!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance says
Loving yourself is such a fabulous quality and not enough people are capable of it. Great post, Alex. I love your tan lines too π
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
“Just laugh and live.”—->Sounds like my motto for life. π
Maryea @ Happy Healthy Mama says
You are wise beyond your years, Alex. Your tan lines are awesome!
Jessy (squeezetheday) says
I like the message of this post. I do not, however, like tan lines – boo to skin cancer, sunscreen FTW!
Annie @ Naturally Sweet Recipes says
What a great post Alex! I love those gorgeous pictures.
Okay, so I noticed nobody answered your thought provoking question yet!
So I will start… π
I like that I like opposite things. I am a total girly girl- I love pink, anything about homemaking, dressing up and shopping but am kind of a tomboy at the same time. I love shooting guns, nice cars, action movies and going to baseball games.
My husband loves this about me too. It’s good to be well rounded, right? π

Thanks, Annie! And yes, well-rounded-ness is key!

John 15:9-17 (The words of Jesus Christ)
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Fatherβs commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his masterβs business. Instead I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit β fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.

I love this post. it is exactly what I needed to read today. Thank you!
I love my legs. They get to me to where I need to go. I have cerebral palsy and have been self-conscious about my legs since I can remember. I started running a few years ago and have really learned to honor my legs.

What an inspiring post! I have embraced my nose…I used to hate it…now I think of it as unique!

The beach looks so beautiful wow! And your tan lines are awesome! I’d love just about any tan line at this point, but I guess I should embrace my pale skin! I love my curly wild hair! And my ability to really listen and learn from people when they are talking to me π
Cindy says

I was totally thinking the frizzy hair thing two minutes ago – it’s quite rainy here.
I love my smile. Love it.

That quote is the end is one of my favorites. Thank you for this post; I really need to read something like this every now and then…it’s easy to forget to love yourself. Thank you!

I really needed this post today, so thank YOU for posting it. And I love your tan lines too! For myself? I love my height. Sometimes I hate it (I’m 5’8″ and my best friend is 5’2″ so I always feel like a bit of a giant going out for a night out in heels with her!) but I’m learning to embrace it, and through yoga I am walking even taller and really trying to own that. Height only looks bad when you’re trying to cower away from it. Thanks again for the great post!
Rachel @ Eat, Learn, Discover! says
This is awesome, and totally just made my day 10x better π What I ilove about me? I love being super pale, and my overall light coloring. I’m comfortable in that skin, it make me different and proud.

It’s good to remember to love yourself, today has been a hard day for me, and this made me stop and think about what I love about myself.
I love my (usually) cheery personality, and my messy curls.
Inspiring, thank you!!
