Last night I tried experimenting with my julienne peeler. I shredded two carrots and a zucchini and tried making a avocado-based sauce. It tasted like a nut-free pesto. I’m still tweaking the recipe a bit, but I will give it to you when I have it ready! For now, why not try my raw pesto recipe?
This morning I woke up to this:
Looks like it is going to be a rainy day! But that’s ok. Sometimes we need a day to slow down and relax.
Take my overflowing bucket full of T-shirts and make a T-shirt quilt:
Take the leftover scraps and make a braided band. Just because.
Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:
What are you up to on this beautiful day?
Movie marathons? Pancakes? Scrap booking? Sports (if it isn’t raining!)? Spending time with friends and family? Reading a good book? Baking (maybe some Pecan Sticky Buns?)?
I’m definitely going to be using your t-shirt quilt idea .. I have so many old t-shirts from when I was younger that I will never wear again, but can’t just get rid of them. Putting them all together in a quilt is sucidea creative idea to be able to enjoy them!
It really is a good idea. A friend of mine told me about it a couple years ago and I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, but it is super easy! I’ve seen some really fancy ones on the internet, but I’m making mine a bit mismatched and uneven. I like it that way. T-Shirts are supposed to be messy 😛
I plan on having a very lazy Sunday–just lounging around ALL.DAY.LONG. outside on my deck, enjoying the weather. It’s been so rainy here lately that it doesn’t even feel like summer, but today is supposed to be very nice outside.
I can’t wait until I have enough race t-shirts to make a quilt out of them! As I was losing weight, I cut up my jeans that became too big to wear, and I made a huge jeans quilt out of them. I love it! The race t-shirts are next 🙂
AH! I love that idea! Jean quilt! Neat-o 😛 Have a great Sunday, Katie!
I have been hoarding all of my t-shirts from growing up for a quilt too! Who knows when Ill get around to it, but it’s such a great keepsake. Today I’m hiking with a bunch of friends and our dog.
It’s a bit overcast but i think it’ll still be a really fun day. Enjoy your day off!
oops didn’t mean to post twice, sorry!
Have fun hiking! I haven’t been in so long (maybe because I live in a flat state?) hehe….

I’ll be going to church, baking, blogging, and probably some reading thrown in there. I love that you sewed your shirts together into a quilt!!! You are such a smartie! I have a lot of shirts from camps, etc. that I just never wear — I love what you did.
It’s rainy here too. I’m going to make some salads, help my boyfriend in the yard (we’re getting trees next week), and cuddle up and watch a movie later. Lazy Sunday!
I just came across your blog a few days ago and I love it! I absolutely love that you ask your readers questions. It’s so fun!
In NYC, it’s gorgeous today. I went for an hour run outside (half-marathon training) and am now getting ready for a family BBQ in a few hours.
Happy Sunday!
Oliia
I am all for lazy sundays…and thats pretty much what my day is shaping up to be….
🙂
i love your mug! it’s been quite a whirlwind for me as my hubs family was staying with us since fri! they just left so im trying to catch my breath before work again!!
Gosh you sew too? Is there anything you CAN’T do? Good luck with the T-shirt quilt, you’ll definitely have to show it off when you’re done.
it’s such a nice day & i just got back from a really long walk. i think i’m going to go lounge out on the patio or curl up on the couch!
We had a big cook-out this evening–LOTS of delicious food, including a quinoa salad–SO good!!
LOVE lazy mornings 😀
Still looks like it’s going to be a winner!
