Hello everyone!
You may have noticed that I don’t post the Nutrition Facts for all of my recipes. The only reason I don’t is because I don’t count calories or carbs, and it is just a bit more time-consuming. However, I completely understand those who need the calorie information due to Diabetes, weight loss, weight gain, etc.
For those who need the nutrition data, please feel free to ask me. Just leave a comment or send me an email at spoonfulofsugarfree@gmail.com. Tell me which recipe(s) you are interested in, and I will get the data calculated for you right away!
Now onto something fun. Like raw flax crackers!
I have never made raw flax crackers before, but they looked easy enough. I threw a bunch of stuff in my magic bullet, and Voila! Crackers that taste good and are good for you.
Raw Bloody Mary Flax Crackers
~These crackers are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, raw, and, of-course, sugar-free!
Ingredients
- 2 cups flax seeds
- 12 oz. tomato juice
- juice of one lemon
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic
- Flax: Full of healthy Omega-3’s to help your heart stay strong. It is also a great source of both soluble and insoluble fiber to keep your gut healthy and help you stay full. Flax also contains lignans which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. These lignans help protect against cancer by blocking enzymes that are involved in hormone metabolism and interfering with the growth and spread of tumor cells.
- Tomato: This fruit is full of the antioxidant, lycopene, that fights against cancerous cell formation as well as other kinds of health complications and diseases. Free radicals in the body can be flushed out with high levels of Lycopene.

What is your favorite seed/nut?
If you don’t like seeds and nuts, your crazy. My favorite changes from time to time, but right now I am really loving my almonds 🙂
Heather @ kissmybroccoli says
I bet those flax crackers would taste amazing with a cheesy cashew sauce or hummus mixed with nooch! Yum!
Favorite nut will always be pecans, but I’m currently loving on some sunflower seeds and sunflower seed butter now!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
OoOOooOOoooo It would!!!!!! I was even thinking about adding Nutritional Yeast to the crackers next time to make cheezy crackers…
And I just bought a HUGE bag of pecans!!! Yay!
theflourishingfoodie says

Kaila @healthyhelperblog! says
My favorite nuts are walnuts and pecans! But my favorite nut butter is PB! I love those crunch master crackers in the one pic above! I reviewed them from the company but I haven’t been able to find them anywhere in stores….where do you buy yours?
Oh and btw….your flax crackers look yummy!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
I buy them at costco!!!! I can get a reeeeeaaaallllll good deal there for them! 🙂
IHeartVegetables says
Those look so interesting! I bet the tomato juice gives it an interesting flavor! I wish I had a dehydrator. Maybe I’ll try to make these in the oven!
tea-bag says

Jenny says
I love adding flax to my oats,so many health benefits. Those crackers look yummy 😀 My favorite nuts are pecans FTW
Kayla says
Wow, lovely recipe! I wonder if you could make these in an oven….?
I love almonds, peanuts and cashews the best for eating by themselves, but my favorite nut butter is definitely peanut!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
I’m sure you could!!! Just put it on low temperature (maybe 200?) and bake for a few hours!
Ellie says
that’s so interesting! I’m so curious to know what a raw cracker tastes or feels like.
Stefanie says
Those look good. I would have a lot of fun with a dehydrator but I do not need another appliance sitting around.
I am currently liking cashews. They are naturally sweet and have a creamy/smooth texture when made into but butter. My nut/seed obsession changes frequently though. That would explain why I have 4 open jars of nut/seed butters in my fridge. 🙂
katshealthcorner says
YUM!!! I love FLAX!!! 😀 Your recipes are the BEST! Ever since I’ve cut out the sugar, my taste buds have really changed, so I appreciate your recipes MORE AND MORE! 😀
The Teenage Taste says
Those crackers look delicious! I love flax seed! 🙂
Right now my favorite nut would either be cashews or macadamia nuts. I just bought a little baggie of macadamia nuts and I’m savoring every last bit of it – they are SO expensive. Around $10 for a little 8 ounce baggie. 😕
spoonfulofsugarfree says
I LOVE MACADAMIA NUTS!!!!!! But they are sooo expensive. I used to get HUGE boxes of them at costco for a really great price 🙂
Mimi says
I needed a recipe to use up my flaxseed! Thankies!
My favorite nuts…it varies! I love macadamia nuts, cashews, almonds…oh, and at Christmas, ROASTED CHESTNUTS!
Strangely my favorite nut/seed butter is sunflower seed butter!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
I love sunflower seed butter!!! I haven’t had it in sooooo long 🙁
Kim says
Alex, I just stumbled on to your blog recently and I am so pleased! I’ve been “off” sugar for almost a month now and was getting a bit bored. You have absolutely inspired me and made me realize all of the great alternatives to the processed junk out there No need for my taste buds to be bored! Thank you so much!
BTW…loving cashews and sunflower seeds lately! And enjoying experimenting with raw coconut flour and crystals…a whole new world! 🙂
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Hi Kim!!
I am so glad you found my blog and enjoy it! I am also equally excited that you are “off” sugar! Yipeeee! I bet you feel so good now 😉

I really appreciate you stopping by my site and showing support – we’re just injecting ourselves into the blog community so it’s good to see new faces. I LOVE YOUR SITE. I’ve met so many cool people just working on my blog and it’s really cool to have a network of healthy food loving people. I live in a town where obesity rates are insane so my wife and I are busting out butts to make a difference.
And to answer your deep heavy question – I’m loving sunflower seeds at the moment because of Sun Butter!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Hey Chad!
I’m glad you like my site! I love being a part of the healthy blogger community, too, so many great people. It is so great that you are trying to make a difference in your community-I hope they catch on!
Colleen Selby- Beattie says
im sensitive to night shades what would you suggest i sub for the tomato and hot sauce ?
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Colleen,
Hmmm….You could try a different sort of veggie juice like a mix of carrot and celery? For the hot sauce, you could substitute any other spice or even try some soy sauce for a different asian flavor?
Ashley Carson says
I am guessing since it is all blended, that I could use flax meal?
Sugar Free Alex says
Ashley,
Yes, you can use flax meal!
MRR says
What kind of dehydrator do you use or does anyone have good suggestion for one? I’ve been wanting to get one but am overwhelmed at what to buy.
Sugar Free Alex says
I just got rid of my dehydrator, sorry, so I don’t know what brand it was!
Timothy W says
Wow!!! I just stumbled across your site, while looking for a true sugar-free barbeque sauce. I’m a diabetic, and am recently having problems with my sugar levels being high. I just saw your flax seed cracker recipe…it looks yummy. I think I will try to make it…using my electric smoker (since I don’t have a dehydrator). Also, I think I might try a few variations…like adding either V8 Juice or Bloody Mary Mix…instead of just plain Tomato Juice
