November 6, 2011 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Welcome to day four of the Sugar Free Challenge!

Breakfast: Eggs with sauteed spinach and roasted tomatoes. Vegan Option: Baked Banana Oatmeal

Lunch: Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Apples and Pecans

Snack: Crunchmaster Crackers (which one of you challengers will win!) with Simply Hummus.

Dinner: Gluten-free, Healthy Chicken Pot Pie

Dessert: Chocolate Fudge Cake with Peanut Butter Cream Frosting. Topped with Homemade Peanut Butter Cups.

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

We are almost halfway through the challenge! How are you feeling?

What has been your favorite sugar-free meal so far?

i feel better. not as bloated & yucky. I was eating alot of cereal & granola bars & just stuff with a lot of sodium and sweeteners.

Good thing about this challenge is that since it’s so hot here I’ve been living off fruit and veggies! Haven’t been craving sweets of any kind.

mmm that cake! I’ve been doing well and feeling great too. I’ve been eating my usual meals, but I roasted up some beets last night which were a great subtly sweet meal.

I love that chocolate fudge cake of yours! I usually make it in the form of brownies! Sooo good!! I’m bringing it to a get together this week!!

i’m feeling great! actually, it’s reduced my cravings for sweets and almost stopped mindless munching because those temptations were all packaged and the one thing i’ve learned – packaged food has sugar!

That is wonderful! I’m so happy for you.

I almost fell to temptation when my sister came home with two bags of chocolate chip cookies, so I made your protein packed cookies instead! They really hit the spot.

I’m glad you stayed on top, Angela, and I’m glad you enjoyed the cookies!

I’m doing pretty well, except I am still using a little bit of stevia. I really don’t eat packaged food. The main sugar sources I had to eliminate are natural sources such as honey and maple syrup. My favorite meal right now is my apple walnut salad!

Definitely the banana pizzert. The banana yogurt topping was cool, sweet, and just slightly offset with a bit of tang from the yogurt. So good!

I failed, at the weekend 🙁 100g chocolate on Sat, and 3 sweets on Suday. I feel so stupid, when I look at the newletter and see all the sugar free , good quality food I could have instead of junk. I WILL continue, I will keep logging on here for motivation and inspiration!

That’s ok, fourdreamsJools. Keep your head up high and keep working at it! I created this challenge mainly as a learning experience, and, well, a challenge! It is not easy, but once you break through the barrier, it is a lot easier!

      You can do it!
