Missing: Kitchen

October 27, 2011 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Where’d my kitchen go?

Yep, we are getting our kitchen remodeled. For the next few days I have no kitchen sink, microwave, or oven.

I’m being resourceful, though, and am using the laundry room’s faucet to clean dishes, a panini maker for breakfast, and a crock pot for dinner.

Eggs on a panini! I used the panini to make my morning eggs, and threw some spinach in it until it was slightly wilted. The tangelo was picked fresh from my very own tangelo tree.

The panini maker worked surprisingly well, but I can’t wait to get my stove back so that I can get back to creating recipes!

Until then, I have my doggy to cheer me up and keep me company.

THOUGHT-PROVOKING, MIND-PRODDING QUESTION OF THE DAY:

Gas or electric stove? What do you have/prefer? Why?

P.S. But not a glass-top electric. They might look sleek, but they’re a pain in the arse to clean! lol

Oh congrats! That is so exciting! What your plans with it?
And I am so impressed with you being so creative and resourceful! It’s at this point a lot people would probably turn to take out. πŸ™‚

    Hi,

Can’t wait to see the finished renovations.

We prefer gas stove top as gas is quicker to heat up and you can control the temperature easier. If something is boiling over you can quickly turn it down.
    And it’s cheaper.

Hope it all goes smoothly. πŸ™‚

UGH! I know what a hassle that can be! We got our kitchen redone last year and it was all microwave cooking for about two weeks! MAJOR SUCKAGE!!!
That is so cool you have tangelo tree!!

We have an electric stove, so I’d go with that.

I know you will have fun with that slow cooker! πŸ˜€

Very resourceful of you! When we first moved to Hong Kong we were waiting for our shipment for two months and had no kitchen equipment except the stove, one pan, and a rice cooker. I managed to make chocolate chiffon cake with the help of my muscled Dad. I hope your renovation goes smoothly! Think how nice it will be to have the nice, shiny kitchen!

Gas all the way. You get a better control of the heat, and I swear the food just tastes better. I have a gas stove in my apartment, and whenever I go home and cook on my parents’ electric stove, it just doesn’t taste as good.
