Cooking tools!ย
I have a lot of new gadgets and books given to me by friends lately, that I’m excited to share with you:
The Complete 20-book set of the Grand Diplome Cooking Course give to me by a thoughtful neighbor. It is a wonderful cooking set written in the 70’s by a few chefs from Le Cordon Bleu School. I love looking through the hundreds of recipes. I’ve tried out a few, and am excited to try more! I have a few recipe inspirations that came from this book. I promise to share it with you soon!
Ceramic Measuring spoons given to me by my wonderful aunt. I love these!
Real Simple Cookbook. I won this from My Little Celebration, thanks Dana!
Giant Donut Cake Pan! It was on sale at Williams Sonoma for $6!!! What a steal! Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake anyone?
Ok, so this isn’t really that new, but isn’t it pretty?
Sugar-Free Notice:ย
I’ve been thinking about hosting another Sugar-Free Challenge like the one I hosted in June HERE.
I know many of you enjoyed the challenge, and asked for another one. Since the Holidays are coming up soon (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), I wanted to do one more challenge for you all before the sugar comas hit.
What do you think?ย
Have a specific date in mind? How long should it last? Would you join?
Maryea {Happy Healthy Mama} says
I would love to do a sugar challenge AFTER the holidays! I’ll need it then for sure. ๐
Colline says
I would join – especially as I did not know of the previous one. It would also be an interesting experience to blog about.
Anna @ The Guiltless Life says
I want those ceramic measuring spoons – adorable!! And I would join the challenge, but I eat like that every day so I would be cheating a little ;). I highly encourage you to run it again though, so many people would be motivated to change with that! Such a great idea!
Healthy Teen on a Mission says
that mug is so cute! and i want that giant donut pan. like right now ๐
aileen says
I’d join, and I’d love to do it soon. My question is, what would be considered sugar-free?
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Hey Aileen!
You can see what I considered to be “Sugar-Free” on my last challenge post here: http://spoonfulofsugarfree.com/health-facts/sugar-free-challenge/
Jennie (the gf-gf) says
I’m game for a sugar free challenge! I missed out on the one in June.
Christine says
I *love* that tiny bottle of Tabasco! That’s probably small enough that you could take it on a plane. ๐
I’m interested in the challenge – I really enjoyed the one in June! I think for me early November would be a good time, but I’m in no matter when you choose. ๐
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Yes! I can take it on a plane! Love it ๐ But it’s too cute….I don’t want to use it!
Lindsay says
I’d like to do the challenge. I have avoided actual sugar for a while but know I’m addicted to the substitutes. I’ve come very far in the last couple of months (with help from your blog!), but I still rely on stevia and honey/agave a great deal.
The biggest issue for me is actually drinks. I drink a TON of plain water every day, so to mix it up occasionally I like to include stevia-sweetened vitamin waters and drink packets. I also put it in coffee, but I only drink one cup a day so I could probably ditch that habit (it’s decaf too). Any suggestions on the drink front though?
Also, what about date sugar and coconut sugar? How are they classified?
Thanks Alex – you rock!!
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Hi Lindsay!
I am a huge water person, but I understand what you mean by it getting boring. Have you tried flavored sparkling waters? I drink La Croix all the time-no sugar, just sparkling. The Orange flavor tastes just like orange soda to me (sans sweet) and the lime tastes like 7up! If you absolutely need a sweetener (which you probably won’t it is so good!), then you can add a couple tablespoons of an antioxidant-high juice like pomegranate, acai, or blueberry.
I love dark coffee, so sweeteners have never been an issue to me. Maybe try decaf flavored coffees? My favorites this fall have been pumpkin spice. You could, of course, add unsweetened almond milk if needed.
For the date and coconut sugars-I’ve never actually tried these or done much research on them I would suggest asking Leanne from Healthful Pursuit because I see she uses those sweeteners a lot.
Thanks for reading!

I am so in for the sugar free challenge. Just made a baked good for a co-worker and had way too much batter and “crumbs” aka multiple brownies worth…. and I’m feeling it now ๐ I’d love to set a goal and try to achieve it with the support of other bloggers!

Was the sugar-free challenge really that long ago? Wow… I love getting new kitchen gadgets and cookbooks. So great that your neighbor gave you all those books!!
Rebecca says
Love it! Need it! 10 days or 14 days would be great and start is asap! Thanks, this will be very helpful.
Rend Shakir says
I’d totally do a sugar free challenge as I missed the last one, only I would not quit stevia, I don’t find stevia affects me the same way as sugar anyways, and I feel I get health benefits from using (in other words I think it is actively healthy!). But yeah, sugar is a BIG evil!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
Me in a kitchen store? DANGER!!! I love gadgets and cookware. ๐
I think I might really be in for a sugar-free challenge this time. I’m planning on “going vegan” the first week in October…so perhaps after that?
spoonfulofsugarfree says
Bah! I know! Me too! And I can’t wait to see your week of vegan!
Cindy says
I’ll join.
I need a refresher before the holidays hit.
and I adore all your tiny cute things!
xo
skinnyfatgirls says
Mini colanders, awwwww, and the tiniest tobasco ever! So cute! How is it that teeny weeny stuff is just so much more adorable than regular-sized stuff? Even miniscule baby snakes and lizards are cute…or maybe I’m just weirdo. That’s probably it.
Shannon says
Yes, I would love to do another challenge b/c I just don’t do it on my own!
Frannie says
I would love to partake in a sugar-free challenge!
Mimi says
That looks like quite a comprehensive course. Neat! I want a donut cake pan.
