Watch my Oatmeal Grow…

January 28, 2011 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Isn't this the cutest mug? My sis bought it for me for Christmas. I love it! It keeps everything inside nice and warm...
I like my cherries on the top, not on the bottom! Silly mug...
Warm Oatmeal (mixed with ground flax and vanilla extract)...
Fruit. Fresh Blueberries and Sliced Bananas...
I'm nutty for Pecans!...
Cacao nibs, coconut shavings, and a Blueberry on top!

Now time to Enjoy!

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

What are your favorite oatmeal toppings?

Michigan blueberries, real maple syrup and sliced almonds on top of oatmeal cooked in soymilk with a dash of coffee – there’s no better way to wake up on a cold morning!

I ate porridge with my grandma a lot as kid so my favorite oatmeal topping is still milk– but now its almond milk instead of cow’s! Other than milk though, I like nuts and vanilla agave!

    I love that mug!

My favorite oatmeal topping of all time is nut butter. I know it sounds boring, but it’s just the best! I’m also partial to a square (or two) of Baker’s chocolate. Yummers.

That is not boring at all!!! Nutbutter and chocolate is the best oatmeal topping of all time!!! (Especially pb+chocolate+bananas…oh man…I’m drooling thinking about that combo…)

I love that cute little cherry mug. It’s cool that you can put the lid on it and keep your oats warm. Hmmm, I might have to one for me.

    The oats layer looks good

I like to microwave them until they are creamy, put a dash of almond milk, raisins, cinnamon, if I have bananas, maybe some of those sliced also. I’ve learned so much from these posts, I put in nutritional yeast sometimes, chia seeds sometimes. I’ve made the overnight oats, add them to pancakes and just about anything. Coconut oil, all sorts of things I’ve learned here.

Very cute mug! I think the toppings totally make the bowl of oats! I love switching it up, but my favorite standby is peanut butter and banana! Can’t go wrong with that combo!

That is a cute mug! My favorite oatmeal toppings are any type of nut butter, berries, unsweetened coconut, granola, and stewed apples. Mmmm…haven’t had a loaded bowl of oats in a while though. Yours looks delish! 😀

Your oatmeal looks delicious, and I lved being able to read through the comments to see what others put on their oatmeal. I’m always looking for new toppings to try. I think my favorite is glazed pecans… those are soo good on anything.

Fruit, milled flaxseed, walnuts, granola, cinnamon and nutmeg. I like mine hearty! Since I don’t have a dairy issue, I also splash a bit of fat-free half and half over mine.

I am so glad you found my blog 🙂
I do that same thing sometimes, too! I throw some nut and fruit in a bowl and call it a day!
