Hallow-Excuses

November 2, 2010 By Alex@Spoonful of Sugar Free

Hello all! I know I haven’t been keeping up with my Friends by Recipes posts over the weekend, but give me a break! It was Halloween πŸ˜‰

I promise, I am in the kitchen right now baking all of your wonderful recipes! I will start posting them again as soon as I can!

But for now, how about a recap of Halloween?

My little brother received his new belt!
Made a fruit monster for breakfast! Grrr! Hiss!

Carved Pumpkins. Mickey Mouse was my sister’s, and Jack (the Pumpkin King) was my little brother’s. Ok…I didn’t carve a pumpkin because I wanted to roast mine πŸ™‚ Or maybe make a pie…
Helped my little brother go Trick-or-Treating! I mean….I helped Harry Potter go Trick-or-Treating πŸ˜‰
He got a load of candy! (Some were King-Sized!) And no, they were not sugar free πŸ™‚

Thought-provoking, mind-prodding question of the day:

How did you spend Halloween??

Oh yeah, and Happy November!

Hahaha I love the candy organization. My favorite part of trick-or-treating was coming home and grouping my candy by type and size. (Then the trading began!)

Oh Yeah!! That was my fav part about trick-or-treating, too! I loved sorting the chocolates and the lollipops and the hard candies….

we had a blast on Halloween. My little one was ALL into it and it was so much fun (if not busy).

he’s so funny too. He has this pumpkin full of full sized candy bars (what gives?) and things and all he wants is the suckers. I think he just has no clue whats inside the other wrappers. (cool. he can skip it for all I care)

    it’s cute.

can’t wait to see what you’ve got cooking up next. I am loving your recipes by friends posts. very fun.
    HAPPY NOVEMBER FOR SURE

Glad to hear you enjoyed your weekend and didn’t stress about the recipes. In my post today I talk about also not being able to do everything this past weekend, but figuring out what things would help me keep balance in my life and it sounds like you’re doing that very well too!

It sounds like you had a great weekend full of activities!

I ran a costume 5k Saturday and then hung out with friend and passed out candy on Sunday. Woohoo!

Ya, Holloween is WAY to important to not have fun with. I’ve lived in my little condo for 6 years now and have never had any trick or treaters – none, as in zero. The first year I was there I had candy, jack-o-lanterns and everything. The second year just candy. Since then I don’t even bother buying any candy, especially since I was the only one eating it. Once I saw a bunch of costumed little guys hustling up the street, it was so cute. I didn’t realize how much I missed all that. Your pictures were nice to see.
